Over!!!!! Stephanie

I totally slacked on the last days of the blog I ate healthy just got lazy and didn't log it.
I will say that there were only 2 times I really wanted to quit and shove handfuls of chocolate chip cookies in my mouth.
I was much clearer headed. Not necessarily less tired, I have 3 kids and I'm always tired. What I was able to do is stay level all day no after lunch dips in energy. I have to say I'm pretty proud of my completion!

Day 17 for T - 21DSD

So...
Thanks mom for the bananas and apples you bought me. Otherwise no breakfast.
Eww...lipstick on my cup. Sorry.

Lunch: McDonald's Bacon Ranch Salad with grilled chicken. And I asked for Italian instead of ranch.
It was ok. Filled me up.

Dinner: This funky thing is a random creation. It was ok. Definitely not my favorite.
Quinoa with broiled fish, spinach, butter, heavy cream, garlic and cheddar cheese.

I put the other half aside in the fridge for today.
Hooray...

Snack: Almonds. Plain rice. You know...boring stuff...

Pros: I don't think about food as much anymore. And I'm not hungry all day long. And I'm slowly but consistently losing weight!

Cons: THE FOOD. ;)

Day 13 for T - 21DSD

Breakfast: Coffee and cream
I really should buy some bananas and make time for eggs and bacon. You know...food.

Lunch:
Mom and I spent the day in Springfield so we ate at Chipotle. Mostly diet friendly.
Steak salad with rice, beans, tomatoes and onions, cilantro, cheese and guacamole. Oh. My. Goodness! Filling. Happy. Smiling.

Dinner:
When I came back home, Jacob was ready and waiting to take me to dinner at Midway, using his gift certificate he got from his sister for the Spelling Bee. Very sweet of him!
We split this little feast:
I was bummed because I forgot to tell the waitress to have them put the Lisa Lisa sauce on the SIDE. Too sweet, did a number on my stomach. But it was delicious. And Jacob got all the crunchy noodle things to himself. And he drank a Dr Pepper and said, "Oh...sorry." Lol.

Day 13 Stephanie

Breakfast: my awesome hubby made me a cheese, mushroom omelet. Coffee.
Lunch: salad, banana
Dinner: grilled tilapia, shrimp, green beans
Green apple

Day 12 Stephanie

I ate stuff. Approved stuff. I've been busy and tired and grumpy so that's all you get.
I will say that even if I'm tired (hello 3 kids) I am thinking clearer, and even though I'm tired I have energy and motivation. Motivation is a big one! I'm doing stuff! It's awesome.

Day 12 for T - 21DSD

Breakfast: Coffee with cream.

Dinner: B ordered 3 types of pizza for him and the boys.
Oy.
I was headed back from my 2nd trip to Springfield, so I stopped at Captain D's and got this:

I split that yummy roll between the boys. Seriously. That was difficult. I always eat that first!
Broiled tilapia, grilled shrimp, rice and 2 sides of broccoli.
I was full and happy!

Day 11 Stephanie

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

Day 9 for T - 21DSD

Today was a busy day in Springfield.

Breakfast: My usual coffee

Lunch: Steak and Shrimp at Hinode.
I cheated and had the seafood sauce. And one bite of noodles.

I paid for that an hour later. Apparently having something I shouldn't didn't agree with my stomach at all.
So far, this diet has shown me that I can have a happy, healthy, regular stomach if I cut out sugar and carbs. Very much noted!

Dinner: 8 slices of hard salami, slice of sharp cheddar cheese and a green apple sprinkled with cinnamon.

I'm not as hungry but I am starting to get really tired of the same old food.
I think that is my fault though, and I need to buy a bigger variety of veggies and spend an afternoon prepping/cutting/sorting into snack baggies.

Day. 9 Stephanie

Breakfast: eggs with cheese. Coffee
Snacked on almonds
Lunch: green apple with almond butter and cottage cheese
I've been eating way too much fruit specifically bananas.
I had a smoothie for snack
Dinner was Applebee's it was a grilled chicken breast with avocado salsa it was awesome.
Since Tonya fessed up to weighing herself I have too I'm down 6 pounds which I love but what I love more than that is that I see a small difference in my clothing and how they fit. This detox is definitely a course on self control. I have tons more energy, I'm not dragging all day with highs and lows and my mood is stabilizing too.

Day 9 "I'm Getting Tired Of The Food I'm Eating!"

Day 8 for T - 21DSD

I'm not as hungry anymore.
Weird.
And I've lost a little weight.
Trying not to be giddy.
I know the book says not to weigh yourself during the detox, but...come on!

Breakfast: The coffee usual.

Lunch: Nada

Dinner: TB. Again. But this time I had the Chicken Cantina Bowl.
Meh, I prefer Steak.

Late night snack (around 9:45): 8 slices hard salami and a cheese stick.

No pics.
TOO BUSY!

Oh. And I want some of Evelyn's Sprite.

Day. 8 part 2

I ate salad with chicken and vinegar and oil.
Banana, green apple
2 slices deli turkey with cheese
In the spirit of transparency I took a sip of Evelyn's strawberry sprite at Wendy's because I couldn't take the suspense I had to know how it tasted. It was good.. Lol
But seriously I feel more energetic, more clear headed, my emotions seem more level and I feel pretty good! Yay!

Day 8-part one

Okay I made an awesome smoothie this morning.
It consisted of raw milk plain yogurt, a small scoop of almond butter, green banana, plain almond milk and ice. It is delicious! Three cheers for a new breakfast!

Day 7 Stephanie

I ate stuff. My allergies are evil and I'm dying. I ate bacon, eggs, lunch meat, cheese, almonds, stuff. Bleh. Sneeze, wheeze, itch, cough.

Day 8 "Two More Weeks...I Want A Cookie!"

You may experience: A slip-up or temptation to eat off-plan foods over the weekend; guilt over having had a slip-up. Fatigue can also kick in at this point if you didn't experience it very early on.
Your best bet is to: Don't beat yourself up over a slip-up, whether you realized it was happening or not. A slip-up doesn't define you or your entire experience, though it should be a wake-up call that you need to recommit yourself to your plan and to yourself. you deserve to get through this simple three-week program on track! But, hey, you can always have a 21DSD-friendly cookie. Check out that recipe on page 195.

Day 6 for T - 21DSD

Crazy busy day!!!

Breakfast: Coffee with heavy cream. Tall cup...maybe 2 cups?

Lunch: Super late lunch, like 3pm!
Brown rice, heavy cream, butter, fish.
Delicious! Everyone liked it.
This is Jacob's plate. Mine was empty. ;)

Dinner:
We were so busy we didn't realize it was 7pm and we had no dinner! So I went to 3 different drive thrus to get what everyone wanted.
This is a "borrowed" web pic of my dinner.
Taco Bell Steak Cantina Bowl.
Yes, not supposed to have other dressing or corn.
Too bad. It was perfect and hit the spot.

I will say...that corn tasted super sweet. Either it was for some weird reason or I am just super sensitive to sugar and notice any little minor sweetness.
Like sugar Spidey senses.

Day 6 Stephanie

Woke up feeling good probably my best day yet. Breakfast... You guessed it, bacon and eggs.
Snack: banana and almonds
Lunch: chicken salad with sour cream
Dinner
A huge t bone from Madison. Steamed veggies and salad. It was glorious.

Day 6 "How Can I Make Week 2 As Successful As Week 1?"

You may experience: Cold- or flu-like symptoms beginning to subside.
Your best bet is to: Revisit your meal planning outline, and be sure that you are ready for Week 2 before it starts.

Anyhow...
Breakfast: No pic. :(
2 boiled eggs, 6 slices hard salami, cheese stick and a green apple.
Coffee with heavy cream.
Yum.

Lunch: Again, no pic. Sorry!
Giant grapefruit (with salt), almonds, cheese stick.
Small glass of milk. Like not even 1 cup.

Dinner:

Pulled pork salad. I gave B the mushy tomatoes.
Only 2 slices of cucumber.
Lots of cheese!
Greek viniagrette dressing.
Combined and devoured.
Still hungry! But didn't eat at all after this.
Oh, and unsweetened tea.

Day 5 Stephanie

Breakfast bacon and eggs, shocking I know!
Lunch
Sardines, green apple, mozzarella cheese

Snacks: almond and banana

Dinner
Cottage cheese, corned beef, provolone, sauerkraut and cottage cheese.

Day 5 "Okay, I'm Getting The Hang Of This."

You may experience: Headaches starting to clear and fewer cravings, or struggles with temptation and slip-ups if you're unprepared and hunger sets in.
Your best bet is to: Remember what got you off on the right foot in the first place: preparation! That early start you had to getting food ready, having healthy snacks on hand, and planning meals was right on, and now you may need to revisit that preparation. Take action, and make sure that you have 21DSD-friendly meals and snacks ready to go.

Day 4 Stephanie

Breakfast Lots of bacon 3 eggs and one of those muffins I hated yesterday.. They were actually better today.
I woke up certain I was going to seriously injure someone. I was so moody. It was really weird. Super pissed one minute then super optimistic the next. I took some extra quiet bible time today and that really helped ground me:) according to the book this hypersensitivity is normal. So carry on.
I forgot to immortalize lunch in a photo but it was boring, green apple , almonds, lunch meat

Oh oh oh !!! Here's the fun one. Super tired, super hungry and super moody I went to walmart tonight, apparently so did all the meth addicts, people who are new to the concept of deodarent, hard of hearing, rude and slow. Anywho, I left with the above dinner. Lunch meat smothered in Colby jack, pepperoni stacked with fresh mozzarella. If the sugar won't kill me by gosh the grease will. I said good day sir!

Day 4 for T - 21DSD

Starting this day off on a rough note.
Lucas has a fever and we are staying home.
And thanks to Stacey, who brought Jacob to school for me, I was able to stay in my pj's while Lucas slept in.
Our breakfast: Bacon and eggs!
But...my eggs had spinach and mushrooms, cooked in the bacon grease.
Coffee and heavy cream.

Lucas wanted me to include a pic of his plate. :)

Lunch: A tall glass of whole milk.
Busy cleaning!

Oh, and my book arrived. YAY!

Dinner:
We had my parents over for a super quick dinner before the choir concert.
Everyone had homemade subs.
I had a homemade sub in romaine lettuce leaves instead of bread.
Genius!
Hard salami, roast beef, swiss cheese, avocado, tomato and whole grain mustard.
I ate two "sandwiches" before we left, and 2 after we got back.

Day 4 "Three Days Down, Eighteen To Go!"

You may experience: Mood changes, minor skin irritation, or breakouts. Acne is a common detox symptom and is a great sign that your body is working to clear toxins!
Your best bet is to: Remember that awareness is key when it comes to your mood. Try not to react to those around you in a hypersensitive way and remember that the change in your diet is likely affecting your mood more than you realize. For your skin, add milk thistle (tea, tincture, or capsules) and ginger tea to aid in detoxification. Take care to read the ingredients in products you apply to your skin, as they may cause further irritation. I highly recommend the oil cleansing method (OCM).
